Facility Committee Ministry Job Description:

Definition: The Facility Committee Ministry mission is to provide assistance and advice to the Pastor and the Parish Administration in matters concerning planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the buildings and grounds; coordinates and activity oversees all improvements to the physical plant and contracted maintenance programs.

Duties: The Facility Committee Ministry stewards work with the Pastor, Parish Manager and parish staff to monitor upkeep of the physical facilities and properties of the Parish and makes recommendations for future space needs.

Length of Commitment: Facility Committee Ministry stewards typically serve for 2-4 years; and can be appointed to serve by the Pastor, based on list of interested stewards.

Time-required: The Facility Committee Ministry stewards meet once a month for 1-2 hours and, as needed, to establish priorities and/or assist Pastor.

Qualifications: In order to carry out the Facility Committee Ministry’s mission, a steward would be an effective communicator, skilled at discernment, forward thinking/visionary, experienced with property management and maintenance, available, accessible, willing to spend extra time and prayerful. Completed all Called to Protect requirements.
Parish Facility Stewards Job Description:
- Definition: Parish Facility Stewards provide time, talent and resource gifts to the parish.
- Duties: Parish Facility Stewards provide services to the Parish, such as, but not limited to, serving as contractors, painters, plumbers, flooring layers, carpenters, carpet layers, grounds/flower keepers, security persons, custodians, electricians and housekeepers.
- Length of Commitment: Parish Facility Stewards typically come forward to ask where they can assist with on-going maintenance and upkeep of parish facilities and/or respond to calls of needs.
- Time-required: Depends on the activity or service the facility steward provides – may be one-time work effort or an on-going commitment, i.e. during summer time ready for school for the next session.
- Qualifications: Parish Facility Stewards would be skilled in duties listed above; available; accessible; organized; adaptable; willing to spend extra time; experienced with and have access to facility equipment, supplies and tools; and prayerful. Completed all Called to Protect requirements. Additionally, required insurance certificate and/or hold harmless paperwork must be on file before Facility Steward starts any project.
